Robert Dallas Kalbaugh

He was born in Hollywood, CA, on June 3, 1934, to Dallas F. and Dorothy (Robinson) Kalbaugh. He grew up in Burney, CA and graduated from Burney High School in 1952. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade in the Naval Aviation Division, which led to a 35+ year career as a Commercial Airlines Pilot for American Airlines. He flew routes both domestically and international.

He married Marylyn Meathrel, in a ceremony in Corpus Christy, Texas, on January 20, 1961. After moves to New York, Connecticut, Florida, they finally settled in Westmoreland, NH in 2007.

The family started a Gentleman’s Farm. He enjoyed playing golf, and spending down time, relaxing with his family.

He is survived by his wife, of 54 years: Marylyn Kalbaugh of Westmoreland; a daughter: Karen Duetsch of Westmoreland; two sons: James M Kalbaugh and his wife, Katie Collins-Kalbaugh of Chicopee, MA and Robert J. Kalbaugh and his wife Susan of Newtown, CT; as well as six grandchildren. He is predeceased by a granddaughter Christine Smith.

A graveside service, with Military Honors, will be held in the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at a later date.
