Rose M. Chabot

She was born in Keene, NH, February 7, 1923, the daughter of Elizabeth (DiGiulio) and Clement DiBernardo. She attended St. Joseph Regional School and Keene High School.

She worked at the former F.W. Woolworth Department Store in Keene and then with Markem Corporation in Keene. When her children came along, she took great pride in her role as homemaker and raising her children.

She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene. She enjoyed going for Sunday rides and out to dinner. She also enjoyed playing bingo. Her favorite pastime was that spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William H. “Bill” Chabot, Jr., of Keene; two daughters, Diana L. Wright and her husband, William, of Keene, Dorothy A. Keating and her husband, Kenneth, of Roxbury, NH; six grandchildren, Jonathan W. Metivier and his wife, Susan, of Cromwell, CT, Denise R. Roderick and her husband, William, of Keene, Jennifer L. Metivier and her fiancé, Paulo Gonzalez of Marlborough, NH, Rebecca A. Weston and her husband, Paul, of Jericho, VT, Kristen A. Keating-Coates and her husband, Kevin W. Coates, of Stoddard, NH, Allison M. Keating of Weare, NH; five great-grandchildren, Kayla E. Harris, Lindsay R. Roderick, William H. Coates, Kiera A. Briggaman, Julia R. Briggaman; two sisters, Antoinette Boufford and Mary Hammond, both of Keene; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Edward DiBernardo, Cordine DiBernardo, Joseph DiBernardo, Angelo DiBernardo, Sr.; and two sisters, Ernestine Papile and Rita Mackey.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:30AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. There are no public calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Chabot’s memory to Home Healthcare Hospice and Community Services, PO Box 564, Keene, NH 03431.
