Russell E. Barrett

Russell E. “Sonny” Barrett 72, a lifelong resident of Winchester, NH, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Applewood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Winchester.

He was born in Keene, NH, August 30, 1940, the son of Arthur Russell and Ella Irene (Brown) Barrett. He was a 1959 graduate of Thayer High School in Winchester.

Mr. Barrett was a Navy veteran.

He worked for over 28 years with the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Company in Winchester. He enjoyed listening to blue grass music and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

He is survived by his many friends in Winchester including Ernest and Marsha Paight and Arlayne Secord; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Fred Barrett, Hubie Barrett and Richard Barrett.

A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Evergreen Cemetery, Winchester.

The Foley Funeral Home of Keene, NH is in charge of the arrangements.

"Sonny" or "Rusty" as we knew him from our high school class of 1959 was a quiet, kind person and a role model every one would be blessed to call their friend. Rest in peace.
