

She was born on March 4, 1925 in Keene, the daughter of William F. and Dorothy (Burley) Parady. She graduated from Keene High School in 1943, where she was class secretary and captain of the cheerleader team.
She married Dr. John R. Johnson in 1949 in Keene.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the United Church of Christ. She was a board of directors member of several community organizations, including Prospect Place, the Ladies Charitable Society, and the Cheshire Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered at Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities, and was a member of the Homestead Garden Club.
She was an avid bridge player and played regularly up to the end of her life.
Her vivacious personality, sharp wit, and generosity of time and spirit made her a beloved mother and grandmother, and a cherished friend to many.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Nelson and husband Stephen of Concord, NH, Rev. Peter F. Johnson and wife Karen of Hershey PA, and Douglas S. Johnson and Laura Hoffmann of Keene; her grandchildren Christopher Nelson, Elizabeth Emanuelson and husband Matthew, Benjamin Johnson and wife Sarah, Jessica Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Bethany Johnson; and great- grandchildren Anders and Milo Johnson and Zachary Emanuelson; and her sister Carol Angus. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. John R. Johnson, sister Jean P. Dyer, and brothers Phillip D. and William F. Parady.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in her memory to Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services, 312 Marlboro St. Keene, NH, 03431, or to the charity of one's choice.
A private celebration of Mrs. Johnsons life will be held at a later date. Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH is assisting with the arrangements.
