Scott is the founder and president of Samson Manufacturing Corporation and SnF Finishing located in Keene, New Hampshire, which currently employ 64 people. For 33 years, Samson Manufacturing has been a leader of AR and AK accessories. Samson Manufacturing has held several military contracts, sells to law enforcement agencies, and provides parts worldwide.
Scott was a visionary entrepreneur, passionate about manufacturing. His life exemplified the American Dream. After graduating from Franklin County Technical School as a machinist, he pursued his dream of growing his own machine shop. He started with only a couple machines that he operated out of his home garage. His current manufacturing facility in Keene is impressive, highly capable, and sized at over 55,000 square feet. Scott developed, patented, and sold dozens of products over his career.
Scott had incredible vision and enthusiasm for all of his projects, both business and personal. Scott transformed the hillside of his Spofford property into a picturesque apple orchard with a water wheel barn to make the perfect setting for his children’s weddings. Since then, many family and friends have been married on his beautiful lakeside hilltop. Scott was incredibly generous and made friends in every room he ever entered. He co-sponsored the 2025 Spofford fireworks and drone show and invited the whole town to enjoy the show from his property.
Scott was a collector of antique cars, unique coins, and firearms. He enjoyed boating, skiing, water skiing, scuba diving, and travel. He was a life member of the National Rife Association (NRA). He never compromised and lived his life to the fullest.
Scott is survived by his son Nathan Samson (Heather) of Easthampton, MA; daughter Alyssa Fernholz (David) of The Woodlands, TX; step-daughter Jessica Guyette of Washington, D.C.; and grandchildren Jack, William, and Benjamin. He is also survived by his parents Wilfred & Patricia (Morrey) Samson of Hatfield, MA and his three siblings, brother Raymond Samson (Anne) of Sunderland, MA; brother Robert Samson (Cindy) of Hatfield, MA; sister Lori Hannum (John) of Whately, MA; and nieces and nephew.
At this time, his family has decided to hold a small private service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Scott Samson Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Franklin County Technical School (Turners Falls, MA) to support future entrepreneurs in machine trades.
