

Tom was born in Keene, the only son of Kenneth and Christine Morton. He attended area schools and spent most of his life in his beloved hometown.
Tom attended New England Business School and later Franklin Pierce College with a B.S. in accounting.
Tom had a varied career. He helped start the Emergency Medical Services in New Hampshire in the early 1970’s while working as an auditor and Emergency Medical Technician. As an EMT, he worked the ambulance at Keene’s Fourth of July celebrations and as a EMT at the Cheshire Fair. He was very proud to have delivered a healthy baby girl on one of his calls in 1978. He went on to become a Cost Accountant and then a Controller at various New England manufacturing firms.
Tom was a member of Round Top Mountain Ski Patrol from the age of 12 and went on to become president of the Ski Patrol. He also served his community as Boy Scout; chaperoning trips to National Parks with the YMCA; and by teaching First Aid courses. He proudly conducted trainings for the New York City Fire Department as an EMT for the Keene Fire Department. Tom was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church, serving in the Vestry among other duties. Recently, he was a dedicated member of the Jonathan Daniels 50th Anniversary Planning Committee. He was a devoted volunteer to the 100 Knights as well.
Tom is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lucinda; and his five children: Bryan Greenhagen and his wife Emily of Melrose, MA; Kristi Wilson and her husband Robert of Phenix, AL; Beth McPherson and her husband, Steve of Groveland, MA; Michael Morton and his wife Michayla of Keene, NH; and Stacey Spencer and her husband Ian of Richmond, NH. Tom was proudest of his children; 10 grandchildren; and one great grand-daughter.
Funeral services will be held at St. James’ Episcopal Church on Friday, April 15th at 11:00 am. A reception at the church will follow the service.
