She was born in Hillsborough, NH, on June 16, 1927, to Warren and Alice (Waldron) Fisher. She grew up in Hillsborough and Keene and was a graduate of Keene High School.
She was a regional sales person for Stanley Home Products for many years, covering the Monadnock Region. She worked as a telephone operator as a young woman and in later life worked at and retired from MPB Corporation.
She was an active member of the American Legion and president of the Ladies Auxiliary at one point. She enjoyed traveling with the love of her life, the late Ady Yeaton, to many functions honoring World War II veterans of which he was one.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, tatting and socializing with family and friends. Shopping with her was a major social event because she always ran into someone she knew to talk to. It seemed like she knew everyone. If there was a bean supper in the area she would often be there.
She is survived by her daughters: Nancy Renz and her husband Michael, of W. Palm Beach, FL, Kathy Reedy of Sarasota, FL, Cynthia Plante of Sarasota, FL, Judith Plante of Port Charlotte, FL and Carol Kent of Modesto, CA; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a brother: Vernon Fisher of Keene. She was predeceased by a brother Warren Fisher, and two sisters: Beverly Fuller and Avis LaBarre.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the family lot at Mountain View Cemetery in Swanzey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in Valerie J. Plante’s name, to the ASPCA (www.aspca.org), 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804 or to the charity of one’s choice.
