

She was born in Ashland, NH on January 20, 1921 to Floyd and Hazel (Bartlett) Huckins. After graduating from Keene High School with the class of 1940, she worked for Pratt & Whitney as a Machinist during World War II, where she met and later married her future husband. She later worked for MPB as a machinist, before retiring after over 20 years.
She married Zygmund S. Berdinka on November 22, 1945. They lived in Keene until his death in December of 1998.
She was a member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Gordon Bissell Post # 4, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Daley-Whipple VFW Post #799, and a member of the Sons of Union Veterans. She enjoyed sewing.
She is survived by her sons: Rodney Berdinka and Stanley Berdinka both of Keene and her sister Florence Jennison also of Keene, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband: Zygmund S Berdinka; brothers: Floyd Huckins, Harold Huckins, Clifton Huckins and Raymond Huckins and sisters: Marjorie Huckins, Claire Robichaud, Gloria Morrell, Vera Morelli and Marion O’Donnell.
Services for Mrs. Berdinka will be held on Tuesday, April 16 at 11:00 at the Fletcher Funeral Home. An hour of Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00, prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at the Mountain View Cemetery in Swanzey.
