Virginia M. Hollingsworth
March 23, 1928 – March 6, 2019
Virginia M. “Ginny” Hollingsworth, 90 of Keene, NH and formerly of Malden, MA, died on March 6, 2019 with family by her side.
She was born March 23, 1928 in Melrose, MA, daughter of Paul L. White and Myrtle G White (Stewart). She graduated from Malden High School and married the love of her life, Maynard M. Hollingsworth, on September 23, 1946. They lived on Washington Street before moving to Hooper Street in Keene.
She was employed with Keene National Bank (now Bank of America) as a bookkeeper for 23 years until she retired. She was an avid member of First Baptist Church of Keene and the American Legion Auxiliary, Gordon Bissell Post No. 4. She enjoyed many summers on their island in Litchfield, ME with family, loved to play cards, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include three daughters and a son and their spouses: Bonnie Forcier and her husband Robert of Keene, Marlene Blamy and her husband Jim of Walpole, Jill Derby and her companion Chris Bowen of Swanzey, and Jeffrey Hollingsworth and his wife Holli of Gilsum; four grandchildren: Brett Forcier, Crystal Blamy, Nathan and Tyson Derby; one great grandchild: Desiree Sprague; and one great great grandchild: Weston.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene. Further details will be announced at a later date.
