On February 22, 1952, Bill married Victoria (Vicky) C. Wilson, also from Keene. During this time he was attending The University of Pennsylvania, while Vicky taught school. Bill graduated with a degree in Engineering in 1953. In 1954, they moved to Rochester, New York where Bill went to work for the Eastman Kodak Company as an Industrial Engineer. He worked for Kodak for 37 years, retiring in 1991.
Bill will always be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father, and for his sense of humor. He loved to send gifts and messages, pictures, and newspaper articles annotated with jokes to his sons Bill, Jr. and Mark and other family members. He was extremely proud of "his boys", grandchildren, and his Keene and New England family heritage.
Bill loved music and dancing, seafood and Maine, coin collecting, snow skiing, sailing, fishing trips to Bob’s Lake with friends from work, family trips to their Newboro Lake cottage in Canada, and evening fishing trips with his sons. He also loved photography, “little projects” to fill his free time, and holidays with family and friends.
Bill is predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Victoria W. Chandler, his mother, Blanche and father, Harold I. Chandler, a brother, James E. Chandler and a sister, Martha Poppy. He is survived by two children, William E. Chandler, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, and Mark W.
