January 6, 1941 – September 22, 2026
Born in Barcelona, Spain, he emigrated with his family to Argentina and later to Venezuela, where he arrived at age 17. After the family’s savings were stolen during the voyage, he found work on his very first day and began building his future. Self-taught, intelligent, and persevering, he studied electronics and built a distinguished career at GE and Singer, later becoming a shareholder and vice president of Disivenca.
His great passion was the sea. Aboard his beloved boats, especially Océano, he found his greatest happiness: bringing his family together, sharing adventures, and watching the sunsets. Years later, he emigrated to Fort Worth, where, despite the loss of his wife, he continued to enjoy time with his loved ones and received his daughter’s loving care in his final days.
He passed away surrounded by love. He is survived by his children, Ricardo Antonio and Alejandra Lablanca; his stepdaughter, Adriana Pernetz; his granddaughters, Oriana Cervantez and Sabrina Lablanca; grandsons Uriel and Rafael Mull; his great-grandchildren, Camila and Aksel; his siblings, Montserrat and Ramón Lablanca; his sister-in-law, Dalia Albero de Lablanca; and his nieces and nephews.
He leaves a legacy of hard work, integrity, honesty, and love for family. Although he was not religious, he believed that souls never die. Those of us who love him imagine him aboard Océano once again, gazing out at the sea and beginning a new adventure.
