Alonzo A Watkins

Alonzo A. Watkins Sr., 82 years of age of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones on January 7th, 2022. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the union of Thomas Adolphus Watkins, Sr. & Bessie McCoy Watkins on April 28th, 1939. He is survived by wife Naomi Watkins, 2 daughters, Shelly Watkins of Detroit, Michigan & Akemi Watkins, 1 son Alonzo A. Watkins II and his wife Ali Watkins, 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and host of family and friends.

Alonzo Sr. enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activities and listening to his favorite music but most of all, he enjoyed being in the company of his family. Alonzo served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960 before becoming a Special Education teacher and raising his beloved family.

Alonzo Sr. touched many people with his sharp wit and genuine soul. He will be missed dearly by all those who loved him.

A committal service for Alonzo will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, 9:00 AM at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
