His family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home, located at 220 Keller Pkwy., Keller, Texas 76248. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Antonio Romero.
Antonio was born on February 20, 1938 to Parents, Miguel and Rosa Romero in Sao Carlos, Brazil. Antonio moved to the United States in his late twenties. He met his beloved wife, Reltih Elisabeth, while they both lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage while beginning a family, and gladly welcoming four children. He will remain a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed by so very many.
Antonio enjoyed life to it is fullest with many trips around the world. He was most definitely the life of any party, with a contagious smile and joyous laughter. He went to 2 World Cups, one in 1994 in the USA and another in 2002 in Korea/Japan, which by no coincidence, Brazil won both! He never complained about anything and always had something nice and uplifting to say to others.
Antonio completed his education and technical training as a machinist in Brazil. He continued his technical training here in the USA where he worked for many companies, including Carpenter Technology Industries. This company eventually asked him to head up a new Carpenter plant in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as Plant Manager. He worked there until the company was purchased by Sandvik. Much later he opened his own machine shop, AEROVEG, running it until he sold the business and retired.
Antonio was a very good bocce and billiard player and won a couple of amateur tournaments. He loved anything to do with the ocean and every chance he got he went fishing. Moinhos da Aldeia in Sao Pedro da Aldeia, Brazil was his little paradise where everyday he exercised, went to the swimming pool, and steamed in the sauna. He loved that place and all the great friends he made there.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Reltih Elisabeth Romero; son, Omar Romero and wife Mandi Romero; son Valmar Romero and wife Cinthia Jalles Romero; son Gilmar Romero and wife Patricia Romero; daughter Elisabeth Romero Turner; grandchildren, Bianca Cohim Romero, Lucas Cohim Romero, Isabela Romero Turner, Gabriela Romero Turner, Marcos Romero Turner, Matheus Romero Turner; brothers, Valdomiro Romero, Luis Carlos Romero, Osvaldo Romero, and sister, Mirna Alba Natali. Our hearts have been deeply saddened during the illness and passing of our beloved father, but have been made to rejoice over and over again by many acts of kindness that have been extended to our family by the many people Antonio touched with his beautiful spirit during his long and happy life.
