Barbara Carole Steormann, 66, of Keller, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2025, at 8:17 in the morning. She left this world with her husband by her side and surrounded by those who loved her most.
Barbara was born on June 16, 1959 in Mineola, New York, to Joseph and Ann Wahl. From the very beginning she carried a warmth and a light that drew people to her, a presence that could lift a room and a smile that would steady a soul.
At 16 she met the love of her life, Steve, and at 19 years old they married at St. Pius church in Plainview, New York. Together they began a love story that lasted over 50 years. Built on faith and devotion, their marriage was a living picture of grace, laughter, and unwavering commitment. For half a century she and Steve stood side by side, raising a family, building a home, and showing all who knew them what love truly looks like. Barbara poured her life into her family, giving of herself so fully that her love became the heartbeat of their home.
Her backyard was her canvas; A sanctuary she tended to with care until it looked more like a park than a yard. Flowers bloomed under her touch, and every corner reflected the beauty and order she brought into the lives around her. She loved gardening and quiet trips to Amish country, but her greatest joy was found in her children and grandchildren, each of whom she adored with a fierceness and tenderness that only she could give.
Barbara lived with a servant’s heart, loved people with sincerity, and delighted in sharing the Word of God. She had a way of making others feel seen, known, cherished, and loved. She was a light when days were dark and a joy when life felt heavy. She never held back her heart from those who needed it most. Her door was always open, her kitchen smelled like an Italian restaurant, and nobody ever left her home with an empty stomach.
She is survived by her husband Steve Steormann, her children Steven, Robert, and Jenna Arnold, her grandchildren Jackson, Fitzgerald, Theodore, Luca, Nash, Siena, and Carson, and her siblings Frank, Bill, Hugh, and Sue. To her family she was not just a wife, mother, grandmother, or sister. She was the steady hand, the wise teacher, the safe place, and the laughter at the table.
Her life was a testimony of love, faith, and family. To know her was to know joy, to feel her presence was to feel peace, and to be loved by her was to glimpse the heart of God. Though she will be missed beyond words, her legacy endures in the lives she shaped and the love she gave so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 16th, 2025 at 11:00AM at Milestone Church in Keller, Texas.
