He leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Verda Pettit; his three daughters; Sherrie Atkins of Clute, Texas; Dianna Earnest of Huntsville, Arkansas; Deborah Chamberlain of Flower Mound, Texas; and a son, Mark Pettit of Richwood, Texas; nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Born January 29, 1926 and raised with a sister; Alice Shaw in Niagara Falls, NY. The son of Charles and Fayetta Pettit.
He received his teaching degree after four years of service in the Army-Air Force during WWII as a tailgunner on a B-24 in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
He retired to Bullhead City, Arizona after working thirty-two years for The Dow Chemical Co. in Freeport, Texas.
A memorial service will be held on June 8, 2024.
