It was seven years ago when I moved to Texas and was afraid that finding new friends would be difficult. One day I met Bette at the Southlake Senior Center and was swept up into her orbit, Being with her was like being with my best friend my sister. As time passed I realized how fortunate I was to be able to play dominoes, share book club and just do lunch with Bette. Miss you me friend!

Despite the necessity for social distancing, this funeral service was beautiful. and heart-warming The words from Bette's children described her precisely. My life is fuller for having known her. I will miss you, dear friend.

Neighbor Bette. That’s how I knew her and all of my friends and family knew her! I was lucky enough to land next to her in my apartment in Keller. She was wise, funny, loving, and an amazing friend that I didn’t know I needed!! You will always hold a special place in my life and most importantly in my heart! Thank you for being you, Neighbor Bette! I will always love you! ❤️

When Grandma would come visit us in Chicago, my sister and I used to sit on the bathroom sink and watch Grandma put on her makeup. She always had cinnamon gum in her purse. We would play boardgames and she would always beat us in 1 move. I remember one time she watched us while my parents went away, on the last day she brought us to Toys R Us and said we could get anything we wanted. I talked to Grandma a few weeks ago and we talked about how she needs to meet her Great Grandson Sawyer. I'm so saddened that she never got to meet him. She always asked for pictures of him. I'll miss you so much Grandma, I love you always.

I met Bette 28 years ago when her daughter, Barbara and I, became the best of friends. Bette was classy, fun and a very intelligent woman. She always made us laugh, she always had a story to tell, and always had good advice to share. Bette lit up the room with her smile and her warm greetings.
I am so blessed to have had her in my life. She will truly be missed by all!
Say hi to Frank and finally eat those pancakes!

I will miss my other mom, driving one of my favorite Daisies, going to lunch and a Sunday afternoon play. But I will fondly remember her humor and quick wit, teasing and bantering with her, how she seemed to know everyone, enjoying cocktails with her and her being a best friend to my mom. I was very blessed to have known and loved Bette.

I found the perfect quotation that expresses my feelings the best way I know. I shared it with her daughter, Barbara, earlier but wish to also share it with others.
“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never ever the same.” Anonymous
This says so clearly what Bette meant to me. She is in my heart in a place that is forever hers.

I was truly blessed to get the opportunity to know Bette. She reached out to me shortly after my own mother passed away and invited me to lunch to share all the great stories she had about my mother. She learned of my love of matzo ball soup and my disbelief that we do not have a Jewish deli in the area so when I was grieving, she made me homemade matzo ball soup. Her kindness was something I'll never forget. She was one heck of a classy lady and will be terribly missed. ❤️

Gramma (not Grandma) Bette was a one of a kind, top notch, best gramma there ever was. She taught me some of the best things in life.... how to people watch, how to make the best macaroni and cheese, how to lay on that Jewish guilt, but most importantly she taught me to be a strong support to anyone that needs it. Gramma had a heart of gold, and adopted many people into her life. She gave to those in need, and was always willing to lend some helpful advice. And in my later years, I understood how deep her love was for her grandchildren, and how her great grandchildren were a blessing to her own children and her. I am forever thankful for all my memories with her, all the insight she gave to me, and all the traits she passed down to me. Enjoy your French pancakes!

I had the incredible blessing of meeting Carol at a Southlake Ladies event. I recently was involved in a motorcycle accident that left me wheelchair bound. I represented the Neuro Assistance Foundation and explained to the ladies what Neuro meant to me. We were there to thank the ladies for their support. Meeting Carol and subsequently volunteering along side her at several charitable events, I experienced her heart and wit.
She let me know how much she loved her family. She was full of joy and fun to be around. I celebrate her life and pray blessings for her family, that God would fill the void of her memory in their hearts.

Met this wonderful lady 40 years ago. Before I married her daughter she told me I had better be good to her.... or she would kill me. Luckily, I am still alive and have some fond memories of her contributions as my mother-in-law, grandmother to our children and great grandmother to our grand children. For the past 11 years she has been my lunch companion at Luby’s Cafeteria; my dessert critic, if she doesn’t call to tell me she likes it that means don’t make that one again; the sharer of life stories; source of comedic material after family gatherings and an inspiration to our family. Give our love to Frank and enjoy French pancakes forever!

Gramma Bette was so awesome. The reality that I live in a world without her hasn’t sunk in yet. The year I lived with grandma and grandpa in my twenty’s afforded me endless memories and the quality time that I’ll treasure forever. The biggest blessing of all is that my kids had the privilege of knowing their Gigi.

We became acquainted through Hopalong Cassidy. She and Frank were a part of the marketing program in California and I was in Ohio. We became good friends through the telephone. One time when I was visiting Mrs Hoppy, I spent the night in Tarzana and had dinner with the Whitehead's and the Rosenthal's. Jerry Rosenthal passed away this month. Good friends for about 20 years. Blessings to the family.
