Britt was born to Joe and Mary Trapnell in Milledgeville, Georgia, he was the middle child with two siblings, Joe and Wade. Britt graduated from MacArthur High School in Irving in 1969, attended college at University of North Texas, earning dual bachelor degrees of Finance and Biology in 1975. In 1971 he married Bobbie Jeanne Zeiler, and the two have been married for 48 years. He enjoyed a successful career as an insurance executive, retiring from the industry in 1999, additionally earning an executive MBA from University of Texas at Dallas in 1998. In 2000, following a lifelong passion for education, he started The Huntington Learning Center in Coppell, which he successfully owned and managed through 2018, providing supplemental education and tutoring services to the community. A resident of Southlake, he retired in 2018 and enjoyed bicycling, travel, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary; older brother Joe. He is survived by his wife Bobbie; son Bradley; grandson Hayden; brother Wade.
