Caden Blake McOmber was born on August 22, 2004, in Winter Park, Florida, and passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2026, at the age of 21. Though his time with us was far too short, his life was filled with faith, purpose, and love.
Caden is survived by his loving mother, Catherine McOmber; his father, Joshua McOmber; his beloved younger brother, Cody McOmber; his bonus dad, Marlon Alston; his grandparents, Bill and Sue Gunnis and Kathleen McIntire; along with many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply. He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved Great-Grandpa George, who recently passed and whom he adored.
Caden was a quiet, reserved, and deeply loving young man whose faith in God was at the center of his life. He carried his beliefs close to his heart, and every tattoo he chose reflected either his faith or the love he had for his family. His favorite color was gold, a fitting reflection of the warmth and strength he carried within him.
He had a passion for music, fast cars, and powerful engines. Few things brought him more joy than his Dodge Challenger, which he cared for with great pride. Caden also had a special love for dogs and never hesitated to show kindness and compassion to others.
Though he was young, Caden possessed wisdom beyond his years. He often reminded those around him not to worry about things beyond their control. He believed in personal responsibility, hard work, and perseverance. He would say, "Don't make excuses—you are the sum of your choices. If you don't like your situation, change it."
Caden embodied those principles every day. He was a hard-working young man who worked full-time at A1 Quality Logistics and spent his days off delivering for Pizza Hut. He took pride in earning his way and was diligently saving to purchase a tiny home, determined to build a future through dedication and sacrifice.
Family meant everything to Caden. He shared a special bond with his younger brother, Cody, whom he loved fiercely and teased in classic big-brother fashion. From the very beginning, Caden was a true mama's boy. Even as an adult, if you asked him who his best friend was, he would proudly tell you it was his mom.
Growing up, Caden loved all kinds of sports and stayed active throughout his life. He especially enjoyed basketball, soccer, and weightlifting. Whether on the court, the field, or in the gym, he approached everything with determination and enthusiasm. Caden also had a childhood filled with unforgettable memories. If you were lucky enough to attend one of his birthday parties, you know just how legendary they were. Every year, one of his favorite birthday traditions was creating an elaborate homemade cake alongside his Great-Grandpa George. Those special moments became treasured memories that brought them both great joy.
He loved Gram Gunnis’ home-made smoothies and he cherished the holidays with Gram and Papa Gunnis, especially the family games, Easter egg hunts, and unforgettable Christmas mornings. These traditions, along with the love of family gathered together, brought him immense happiness and will continue to bring comfort to those who loved him.
If Caden could leave one final message, it would be this: Stay grounded, work hard, and be kind. Do not conform to the world's way of thinking. Prioritize your spiritual growth, protect your peace, and live in alignment with your faith.
Today, we find comfort in knowing that Caden is safe and secure in Heaven, embraced by the love of Jesus and reunited with those who went before him. Though his time with us was far too short, his life was filled with purpose, integrity, and love. His gentle spirit, strong work ethic, unwavering faith, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
Caden will always be loved by his family on both sides of eternity. Until we see him again, we hold tightly to the memories he gave us and the lessons he taught us through the way he lived.
