A man of remarkable joy and many talents, Charles, who went by Gene, liked to introduce himself as Gene Simmons, but “not of KISS”. He was especially known for his deep knowledge of cars. He could identify the make, model, and engine type of almost any vehicle and his passion for automobiles was matched only by his willingness to share that knowledge with others.
He loved fishing, being outdoors, and most of all, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. With his quirky sense of humor and unforgettable funny faces, Gene brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.
Even during his courageous decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, his love for his family never dimmed. Gene leaves behind a legacy of strength, service, humor, and unwavering love that lives on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
