Charles Horace “Chuck” Teemer Jr. was born on July 4, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, to
Charles Horace Teemer Sr. and Hattie Mae Preston. From the beginning, Chuck
carried a strong, independent spirit and a determination that stayed with him
throughout his life.
Chuck served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Though his
military service came with challenges, it reflected his willingness to serve and
sacrifice. Like many from that era, he faced struggles afterward—but he
persevered and kept fighting.
Chuck was a true jack of all trades. He had a gift for fixing things and a heart for
helping people. He had a quick wit and a sharp tongue, known for his sarcasm and
one-liners that could catch you off guard—in the best way. Whether he was joking
around with family, teasing a friend, or trading barbs over a football game, he
knew how to bring joy and light to a room. He was also a die-hard Chicago Bears
fan—loyal through every high and low, quick to defend his team with pride and
passion.
Chuck was married to Jimmie Mae Teemer, and a proud father to Antoine Teemer,
Shatese Teemer, and Kesha Hill. He absolutely adored his grandchildren: Jaquette
Teemer, Acayron Simmons, Aquelyn Simmons, Macaden Hill, Maqueya Hill, and
Macavion Hill.
He is the eldest brother to Carmen Harris, Anthony Teemer (preceded), Garrett
Teemer, Carolyn Gray-West, Sherese Randle, Rodney Story, Charlene Teemer,
Karen Groves, and Michelle Teemer Davis. He has as a host of nieces, nephews,
extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Callie Grant, his mother Hattie
Preston (Dwight), his father Charles Horace Teemer Sr. (Mary), and his brother
Anthony Teemer.
Chuck’s life wasn’t always easy, but it was full of love, perseverance, laughter,
and heart. He leaves behind a legacy of humor, honesty, and strength—a reminder
that a meaningful life isn’t about being perfect, but about being real. He will be
deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
