Chris Johnston

Chris Allene Johnston of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Azle, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved daughter, sister, and loyal friend to all who knew and loved her. Chris was born on February 20, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, to Billy and Maxine Bonner.

She will be fondly remembered for her deep love of family and the traditions she held close to her heart. Chris also found joy in life’s simple pleasures, spending time with her dogs, traveling and camping in her RV, and nurturing a wide variety of plants that reflected her care and patience.

Chris is survived by her daughters, Shannon Valdez and her husband Javier Valdez of Springtown, Texas; Kendra Blackburn and her husband Stephen Blackburn of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and Kayla Johnston of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by her father, Billy Bonner; her sister, Shelley Bonner of Azle, TX; her grandchildren, Rhiannon Wright and her husband Jacob Wright, Samantha Valdez, Sophia Valdez, Faith Blackburn, and Montana Blackburn; and her great-grandchild, Lileigh Ann Waters.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 40 years, Kennith Johnston; her mother, Maxine Bonner; and her brother, Melvin Bonner.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home in Keller, Texas.
