Edward “Ed” Arthur Croft, 78, of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020. He was born to Amos Wilford and Blanche Sarah (Derrick) Croft, on April 13, 1941, in Athens, Tennessee. Ed left his small home town for the big city, Brooklyn, New York, to serve at Bethel. After leaving Bethel, he married Milly and they lived together in Chicago, Illinois. Before having children, they pursued their love for travel. Ed instilled a love for travel in his children, wanting them to see amazing things. He was a single parent for many years, raising two small children. He always told his children to be good when they parted.
His family and friends will always remember him as an outgoing person with many stories to share. Ed touched the lives of many with his generosity and sense of humor. He gave freely of his time to help others, always there when someone needed him to lend a hand. He never lost his love for spiritual things, rejoicing in his study of the Bible.
Dogs could sense his great love for them. They all wanted to sit in his lap, spending hours with him when he was unable to move from his chair. As an example of his love for his children, when his daughter, Danielle, was diagnosed with leukemia, he made breakfast for her every day. Ed passed on to his son, Clint, his love of sports. He was also a huge part in helping Clint return to Jehovah God, witnessing him get baptized. To his son, Cody, he passed on his knowledge of plumbing and his handyman skills. He was lovingly cared for by his son, Clint, and Clint’s wife, Diane, for the last five years of his life.
Ed leaves as his legacy three children and one step-daughter: Danielle, Clinton (Diane), Cody (Amanda), Mandy (Jerry) and one grandchild, Kaylee. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his sister-in-law, Linda Croft, and many nieces and nephews, Missy, Angie, Lisa and Eddie. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Milly, his loyal brother, Don, and his loving niece, Lorie.
We know you are safe in Jehovah’s memory, until we see you again. A memorial service is scheduled for March, in Slidell, Louisiana. Details to be released at a later date.
