Elizabeth Jolly Kelley passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on November 22, 2023. She was born Vicksburg, Mississippi but the beach was Elizabeth’s sanctuary. She loved to take long walks in the sand, collecting shells from her journeys, each a tangible memento of the peace she found near the ocean. She also loved horseback riding and camping. At home, Elizabeth enjoyed painting, crafting, and most of all caring for her ever-expanding garden. Professionally, she dedicated her career to serving as a Federal Contracting Officer for 27 years, first with the United States Department of Treasury and later with the Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, Mississippi and Fort Worth, Texas. Her commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication made a lasting impact on those organizations, leaving an indelible mark of the projects she undertook.
Elizabeth is survived by her brother Robb Jolly of Charlotte, North Carolina, her loving husband, Brian; their three children, Ashley, James and Scott; and her two grandchildren, Nolan and Lenora.
As we bid farewell to Elizabeth, let us remember her for the energy and compassion she had for her family, the tranquility she found by the water’s edge, and the love that continues to ripple through the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, 2 December, at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home in Keller, Texas. Visitation begins at 10am and a memorial service will follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Tunnel to Towers Foundation would be appreciated.
