Jeremiah David Jones

Jeremiah will be remembered for his loyalty, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. He was the kind of person who could make people laugh (especially when giving his mom a hard time), offer a sincere compliment, and make those around him feel good about themselves. Simply put, Jeremiah was a cool guy—fun to be around, loyal to those he loved, and unforgettable to everyone who knew him.

Above all else, Jeremiah loved his family with all his heart. He was a beloved son, brother, boyfriend and uncle, and was affectionately known as “Jojo” by his nieces and nephews, who adored him.

Jeremiah proudly served his country on active duty in the United States Army from 2007 through 2012, including service during the Iraq War.

Football was also an important part of Jeremiah’s life. As a proud Southlake Carroll Dragon, he lost only one game during his entire high school football career and helped the Dragons capture a state championship in 2002. He remained a loyal member of Dragon Nation and was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan—for better or worse.

Jeremiah is survived by his parents, Brian and Sheila Freeman; his sister Alisia Abert, her husband, Adam Abert, and their children, Brady Abert, Caleb Abert and Jordan Gray, her husband, Daniel Gray; his sister Lauren McFarland, her husband, David McFarland, and their children, Trey McFarland, McKenna McFarland, and Kameron McFarland; his sister Allyson Pattison, her husband, Jeff Pattison, and their children, Landon and Jayd Pattison; his brother Jared Freeman, his significant other, Collette DeLeon, and their daughter, Scottie Freeman; and his brother John Freeman, his wife, Jennifer Freeman, and their children, Milton Freeman and Charlotte Freeman; and his girlfriend Haydn Patrick and her daughters Aria and Avery.

He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Becky and Billy O’Neil; his uncle Wesley Patterson; his cousins Michael O’Neil and his wife, Kayla, and their family, Paige O’Neil and her family, Brandy Ballew and her family, and Bubba Patterson and his family, together with many other relatives, friends, teammates, and loved ones.

Jeremiah’s life ended far too soon, but the loyalty, laughter, and love he shared will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
