

Kathleen Anne Pierce, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the age of 80. Born on September 17, 1944, in Seattle, Washington, to William and Anna Rose Wanser. Kathy spent her childhood on the family farm in Snohomish, Washington, where she was surrounded by the love and laughter of her four siblings: Bethia, Bill, Don, and Margaret. Her upbringing on the farm instilled in her a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the simple joys of life.
Kathy met the love of her life, Dana Pierce, in Iceland, where their shared sense of adventure brought them together. Kathy was serving as a Department of Defense teacher, shaping the lives of children overseas, while Dana was a Navy P-3 Flight Officer. Their connection was instant, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Kathy and Dana raised two children. Troy (Mandie) and Kimberly (Kevin), and her legacy of love continues through her five grandchildren: Claire, Noah, Collin, Carter, and Tatum, and four great-grandchildren: Jude, Samuel, Hayden, and Benjamin.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Rose Wanser, her brother Donald Wanser, and her sister, Bethia Blomquist.
A dedicated educator, Kathy spent her career as a high school business teacher, inspiring countless students with her passion, patience, and care. Her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, as she instilled in her own family the importance of learning, perseverance, and creativity.
Kathy's love for arts and crafts was a cornerstone of her life. Whether sewing intricate designs, framing cherished memories, or exploring other creative outlets, her artistic talents brought warmth and beauty to the world. She had a gift for creating meaningful treasures that her family and friends will hold close to their hearts.
Kathy's legacy is one of love, generosity, and creativity. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, gentle spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her family will forever treasure her steady presence, patience, compassion for others, and the boundless love she gave so freely.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 1PM at White's Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor her extraordinary life and the many lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association in Kathy's name, ensuring her legacy continues to bring hope and care to others.
