Lori Alicia Young

Born on February 11, 1966, in Los Angeles, California, Lori was the beloved daughter of Robert Holmes Sr. and Rosie Holmes. She lived a life defined by compassion, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to serving others.

Lori graduated from Dominguez High School before earning her bachelor's degree from Peru State University and her master's degree from the University of Oklahoma. She dedicated her professional life to helping others through public service. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Lori went on to serve with the Social Security Administration and worked as a social worker and counselor, making a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals and families.

Above all, Lori was devoted to her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Ramone Young; her cherished children, Jordan Young, Isaiah Young, and Micah Young; her parents, Robert Holmes Sr. and Rosie Holmes; and her siblings, Karen Holmes, Kim Holmes, Candace Holmes-Johnson (Keith), and Robert Holmes Jr. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews; her aunts, Toni Smith, Terry Barnes, and Kindra Gaskin; her uncle, Morris Barnes; her mother-in-law, Barbara Young, and father-in-law, William Young; her brothers-in-law, Landre Young (Cynthia) and Danielle Young (Regina); her sister-in-law, Shannon Boley (Taurean); as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Lori was preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Bernice.

Lori embraced life with joy, curiosity, and an adventurous spirit. She loved all things Spanish, enjoyed playing volleyball, spending time with family, traveling, learning new things, and sharing a delicious Mexican meal with loved ones. Whether she was encouraging someone through a difficult season, sharing laughter with family and friends, or exploring a new destination, Lori brought warmth, wisdom, and kindness wherever she went.

Her legacy is one of love, service, faith, and resilience. She touched countless lives through her generosity, strength, and caring spirit. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lori's memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were enriched by her presence.

Visitation will be held at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX 76248, US, on August 11, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
