Although I did not know Maria personally she was a girl from Massapequa Park. Sister to friend and classmate Linda. So many of us have kept that connection alive and it seems that Maria was that kind of person too. Good friend. Loved by her family. Gone too soon.

My dear, dear Maria, my heart aches at the thought of losing you. You were loved as a sister, and we shared so many great times together in laughter and fun times, and endured the pains of sorrow together with the loss of John and your parents. But the sweet memories of all the great times will never be erased.

You were a goodhearted and loving soul, generous, caring, funny, and a great partner in our many crazy outings together. The silly joke of you being the mother of my first child, Daniella, which even my wife Eileen cracked up about, was precious, just as you always were to me.

I miss you dearly, I miss your infectious smile, and I will never forget you. Godspeed, Maria, as you reunite with mom & dad and brother John in a heavenly place in the clouds. Love for all eternity, Rich & Eileen.

Neighbors and family friends for nearly 50 years.. I speak also for my parents and Donna when I say Maria was a beautiful person.
So many memories.. from Blockparties in the 70’s to the parties for your folks in more recent years. A smile and hello while Maria did yard work , were a daily occurrence . Stopping by to chat on the front stoop.. or asking my dad how he was doing as he walked to the school bus each day. Beautiful, caring, genuine..
I know she had faith, and I know she continues to smile upon those she loved.
God Bless you Maria , rest in peace friend.

Dear Linda and Family,

I met Maria in High School through you Linda. She was a friend of my sister Jill. Even though we didn’t “hang out” we always had that common bond (Rob) lol. Fast forward 30 years and we started having the Massapicnics. You would fly home and come to the picnics with Maria. I could see the amazing bond the two of you had. I always looked forward to the Caffarella girls being there. She was just so sweet and nice to Courtney as well. We had great times at the picnic and our on line chats. Most recently she and I would go back and forth about the size of our High school classes, she refused to believe that 1975 wasn’t the biggest... it was fun banter and her very last post, a day before this happened, she was still trying to get me to change the numbers. I didn’t get a chance to respond , but she knows now. :). She will be dearly missed. My heart goes out to you and your family. Know that she is at peace and with your Mom, Dad and brother. Too soon an angel. Love you lots!! Jules.

I met Maria through Linda when she moved to Texas. I remember when all of us Sam’s Club girls would go out Maria was always invited. She was a true joy to be around, very kind and a sweetheart. On Linda’s birthday we all went to see Jennifer Lopez in concert and we all had a blast! I will always remember your fun spirit and Love for your family.

No one really knows me but I met Maria at my job at FedEx. Since day one she was one of the sweetest and kindest people I met at that place. I'm not from Texas and I was nervous starting this job. On my first day there Maria was the first person to come introduce herself to me and helped me in so many ways. I never thought much of it but we became really great friends and always worked right next to each other. Even if I missed a day of work she would come and ask where I went or if I was okay. Maria has to be one of the most funniest, kindest, and honestly most Truthful person I've ever met. We would eat lunch everyday together and she was really the only reason why I loved work. She was such a great person and we got along so well. It really saddens my heart that this happened so sudden. We never got that lunch we always talked about having. She will always be someone I can remember for a lifetime. My condolences go out to her family and may her rest in peace.
