Mary Kathryn Bennett

Mary Kathryn Bennett, of Colleyville, Texas, passed away on September 6, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a friend to all who knew her.

Born on July 11, 1944, in Denison, Texas, to Hiram Gladstone Manning and Almeda Manning, Mary was a devoted member of Lonesome Dove Baptist Church in Southlake, Texas. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals and desserts for her friends and family and took great pride in caring for the beautiful gardens at her home in Colleyville.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson-in-law, Coleman Stafford. She is survived by her husband Jerry Bennett; her son Brett Bennett and his wife Rosalie Bennett; her grandchildren Brittany Bennett Stafford, William Bennett, and James Lee Bennett (with his wife Katie Bennett and their children Loretta Jane Bennett and James Lee Bennett, Jr.); her sister Margaret Price; and her brother Greg Manning.

Her funeral service will be held at 3 PM on October 27 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial contributions be made in her honor to any charity that protects and improves the lives of animals. Mary’s lifelong love of animals inspired this request; donations to organizations like Humane Society would be especially meaningful and reflect her commitment to animal welfare.
