Born January 8, 1940 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Leota and Leo Roark, Pat was a gifted and talented oil painter, whose works have been exhibited in galleries across the Southwest. Her painting often reflected her love for nature. She and her husband, Carlton "Cowboy" Waymon shared a love for traveling, the great outdoors and nature, much of which Pat painted on location.
Pat also shared her love for painting by teaching hundreds of students over the years. She owned the Pat Waymon Gallery in Denison, TX, as well an art supply store and an art school, that welcomed many of the finest teachers in the country.
A close tie to her love for painting was her love for cooking and baking. She made countless meals for her family and friends and was always a hostess extraordinaire. She would turn almost any meal, holiday, or event into something exceptional, beautiful and memorable. Her creativity knew no bounds. Whether through paint, baking, or hosting, she had the uncanny ability to make every child, man and woman feel special and welcome in her heart, home and life.
Pat's deep faith in Jesus Christ guided her life. The joy of her abiding faith was reflected in the grace, and kindness she exuded, but most of all in her love for family. She was incredibly proud of her three sons, Russ, Craig and Grant, and she was never happier than when all her "boys" and their families were together. She was gifted with children, and this was never more evident than with her own grandchildren and great grandchildren. For years she and Cowboy hosted Camp Mima/Mimi/Papa for a week in the summer. Those special memories are forever etched in each grandchild's mind and heart.
Pat's legacy of love, creativity and generosity will live on through the countless lives she touched.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Carlton "Cowboy" Waymon, and her parents, Leo and Leota Roark.
