Paul Alan Brada

Paul was born in Elyria, Ohio on April 13, 1944 to Fabian Paul Brada and Dolores Coven Brada. Paul lived with his family in Ohio until April 1954, they traveled by train to Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Security Colorado, He said he felt privileged to have served as altar boy for the first mass held in the new church. Paul graduated from Widefield High school in 1962, he was enrolled in the ROTC. He attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins for 1 year.

Paul married Lucille Perkins in January 1965 and divorced in 1983. He married again to Kathy Ludwig Saunders in 1986 and remained married until his death.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Fabian and Dolores Brada and his sister Bonnie Buman. He is survived by his wife Kathy, three sons, and two step children, Guy (Monique), Mark (Noelle) Jason (Kristen), Lisa Goodwin (Dale) and Chad Saunders. Twelve grandchildren, Corey, Kyle, Kaitlin, Connor, Emma, Jacob, Spencer, Harper, Sebastian, Nicholas, Gage, and Tasia, and two great grandchildren Riley and Cayden. He is also survived by three sisters, Maryellen Manuszak (Roy), Nancy Matli (Steve), Elizabeth Lomme (Steve), and many nieces, nephews and cousins including Barb Fern; she babysat Paul and Bonnie in Ohio.

Paul was a paint contractor and worked with his brother-in-law Roy Manuszak until Roy retired. Paul then took over the company and re named it PAB CO Painting, he said he always wanted to have a business with that name.

Paul loved to travel and visit air museums, NASCAR races and national parks. He and Kathy visited all but three states in their RV. If there’s a race track in heaven Paul is there cheering on his favorite driver Kyle Busch. Recently he said his favorite trip was the 60 days spent in Alaska.

There will be a Rite of Committal of Paul’s ashes at St. Mary’s cathedral columbarium in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Friday, June 18, 2027 at 2 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life that evening, location to be announced as the date of the service nears.
