Richard graduated Slidell high school in 1964 and went on to graduate college from the University of Texas at Arlington, May 15, 1973. Richard served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief. He received 4 medals, meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight, meritorious service, personal achievement award, good conduct award, master of arms, and longevity award. He was a part of the FFA. Ricard obtained his Real Estate License and growing service in the banking industry. Later Richard went on to working for the City of Euless for planning and zoning since 1999. In 1984 to 1999 Richard served on the parks and leisure services board. He serviced tree and park board and served the capital improvement advisory committee. In 2019 Richard received the Lifetime Achievement award for his dedication of 35 years of service for the City of Euless.
Richard coached youth baseball, Soccer, basketball and football. He loved old car especially his 1986 Toyota pickup truck. He enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables and tending to his chickens He loved poetry writing, photography, geology, spoiling his wife and grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his spouse Charlsey B. McNeese, children; Son Richard Louis McNeese Jr. and Leslie McNeese, Daughter Stephanie McNeese, Son John McNeese and Kandyce McNeese, grandchildren; Mary-Hannah McNeese, Nathaniel McNeese, Ashton Lopez, Alexa Lopez, and Chloe McNeese, siblings; Wade McNeese, Judy Pope, David McNeese, Michelle McNeese Penton.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother Macel Pope, Father Clarence McNeese, Brother LaDell McNeese.
A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors, 523 S Main St, Grapevine, Texas 76051. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 9:00 AM, 523 S Main St., Grapevine, Texas 76051. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211.
