Rose Marie "Rose Mary" was born in San Antonio to Mr. Raul J. & Mary R. Sanchez Sr. on September 22nd 1957. She went to high school at Harlandale and graduated 1975. She married Benjamin Padilla Mendoza Jr. on May 29th 1976 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in San Antonio. She graduated from Pike's Peak Community College with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in 1981. She served, in various roles within the United States government, as a dedicated civil servant for over 32 years. The
majority of her government career was with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Fort Worth, TX as a contracting officer.
She shared a passion for being outdoors with her family, tending to her plants and flowers, as well as baking/cooking for her family. She devoted herself to her spouse, son(s), and grandchildren with whom she shared many wonderful memories. She valiantly fought her battle with cancer over a 16 year period with an exceptional amount of courage and strength rooted in deep spiritual faith and supported by many family and friends - she will be greatly missed and fondly remembered!
Rose Marie is preceded in death by her sister Rachel S. Cortez (2002).
She was the loving wife to Benjamin P. Mendoza Jr (46 years), the adoring mother to Benjamin S. and wife Cindy Mendoza III, and son Michael Mendoza, survived by brother(s) Raul Sanchez Jr. and Robert Sanchez, parents Raul Sr. and Mary Sanchez, and her pride and joy grandchildren Anastasia Mendoza, grandson Benjamin R. Mendoza IV, and granddaughter Isabella Mendoza. She is also survived by a number of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, colleagues, and friends with whom she shared a wonderful life.
