Susan Jean Pilkenton

Susan (Sue) Jean Pilkenton of Fort Worth, Texas passed on August 28, 2024. Sue is preceded in death by her father Robert Wilmoth and her sister Brenda Wilmoth. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Pilkenton, her daughter Jennifer, her son Kyle and his wife Rachel, her grandson James, her mother Dolores Wilmoth, her brother Bob Wilmoth and his wife Kim, and her sister Connie Amel and her husband Kenneth.

Sue was born in Warren, Ohio on January 28, 1960. She married the love of her life Jim Pilkenton on June 30, 1979. Soon after, they moved to Texas, and together they built a beautiful life centered around their close-knit family. Sue loved her children, Jennifer and Kyle, unconditionally. She helped others tirelessly, never seeking recognition or thanks. She cherished the people around her- to be around Sue meant to feel the warmth of her care and love. She embraced her role as Nana and never missed a chance to laugh or snuggle her grandson.

No matter how difficult her battle with cancer got, Sue held tightly to the promises of the gospel, never losing hope or succumbing to bitterness. Her absence in the lives of her loved ones is profound. The depth of our loss is matched only by the depth of our love for her.
