He will always be remembered as a steadfast and Godly man by all who knew and loved him. Bill was born on July 7, 1946, in Tylertown, Mississippi, to Virgene and William Pevey Sr.
He is survived by his children — Aaron Pevey, Ryan Pevey, and Alena Hodsdon — who will carry forward his wisdom, humor, and unshakable faith; his beloved grandchildren — Aria, Amia, Matthew, Jackson, and Rhett — who brought him endless joy and pride; his sister, Nelda Sims; and his niece and nephew, Vickie Smith and Billy Dave Harris.
He now rejoins his loving wife, Kitty Pevey, along with his parents, celebrating together once again in the peace of Heaven.
A devoted follower of Christ, Bill’s life was marked by unwavering faith, strength, and integrity. Before suffering a stroke in 2015, he worked as a Christian school administrator, where his strong leadership and steadfast belief in the power of faith-based education shaped countless lives. His strength, perseverance, and devotion never faltered, even through hardship — a living testament to his trust in God’s plan.
Bill found joy in life’s simplest blessings — watching westerns, diving into audiobooks on nearly any subject, and spending time with those he loved. He was a devoted husband, a steady and loving father, a proud grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Per Bill’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor his memory consider making a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association:
