Andre George Roger Latour, 84, of West Kelowna, passed away on November 1st after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Latour (née Moffatt) currently living at Village at Smith Creek senior residence, daughter Nathalie Lockhart (Joseph), son Eric Venne (Barbra) and grandchildren Danielle, Kennedy, Kristen, Parker and Lindsay. He is also uncle and great-uncle to many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews in both Valleyfield and Kelowna.
Andre was born the oldest son of nine children on December 15, 1938 to Adrien Latour (father-deceased) and Gilberte Latour (née Nadon, mother-deceased) in Valleyfield, Quebec. He is older brother to Gilles, Jean Pierre (JP), Germain, Lise, Claude, Jacques and Jean Denis and is predeceased by his older sister Micheline.
He worked in the hospitality industry for many years mostly in the province of British Columbia. He had a passion for jazz music, singing and playing the drums.
In 1967, Andre met Bonnie Moffat, they went on to marry and spend 56 years together. They worked together, travelled together and enjoyed many adventures in their fifth wheel trailer.
A celebration of life will be planned for mid June in Andre’s home town of Valleyfield. Details to be confirmed with family and friends closer to the celebration date.
