

August 9, 1934 - February 10, 2022
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts to announce Anton (Tony) KNORR sadly passed
away on the morning of Feb 10, 2022, peacefully at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving
and devoted wife of 64 years, Frances (Mettlewsky) and will be deeply missed by his children,
Shane (Shirley) Knorr, Laurie (Paul) Rasilainen, Duane (Rosanne) Knorr and Lani (Mike) Rout.
His eight grandchildren, Kyle (Andrea), Jennifer, Lindsey, Ashleigh, Kelsey, Cody, Cameron
(Kelsay) and Calvin, will cherish the memories they've made with him and remember him always
as a loving grandfather. Tony has also left behind two young great-granddaughters, Keairah (4)
and Alana (6m).
Tony was born in Saskatchewan in 1934 and moved to Kelowna in 1944. He was
employed with Chapmans Transport and then moved to a job with Motorways, where he worked
for 32 years before retiring in 1993. During his retired years, Tony took much enjoyment in biking,
walking, woodworking, camping and spending time at his son's lot on Mabel Lake.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Phyllis, as well as, his brothers
Lawrence and Henry and sisters, Irene and Lavina; survived by his brother Eugene (Stella).
The family would like to send a big thank you to Dr. Larry Bobyn, the doctor’s, nurses and
staff at Kelowna General Hospital, as well as the wonderful caregivers at Kelowna Hospice House
for the care they provided.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
