It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother on December 18, 2016 at Lake Country Lodge and Manor in Winfield, BC
Mom was predeceased by her husband Ernest Sidney Squair in 1956, her parents Alex and Tilda Stamm, brother Ben Stamm, sister Alice Metherell, daughter-in-law Margaret Squair, and good friend and partner Charlie Ritter.
She leaves to mourn her son Raymond, daughter-in-law Linda, grandsons Rick (Anne), and Ed (Margaret), granddaughter Teena, step grand-children Brian (Pam), Trina (Terry), eleven great grand-children, four great, great grand-children, numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
Mom was born January 20th in Kipling, Saskatchewan and passed away just one month short of her 103rd birthday. She lived in Saskatchewan for 80 plus years, her remaining years spent in Winfield near her family.
Mom had high moral standards, made many friends, and was known for her quick wit and sense of humour. Growing up in the depression, mom was careful not to waste anything, could be stingy with herself but was overly generous with others.
Mom was a very kind person, quick to support anyone in need. She took in a little girl named Joanne, whose mom had left her, looked after her for years and treated her as her own daughter.
Mom loved animals, especially her two dogs, Tippy and Buffy, and her cat Molly.
We were very lucky to have mom with us for so many years and we will always treasure our fond memories of her.
We are also very appreciative of the management and staff at Lake Country Manor for taking such good care of her in her declining years.
We will be honouring her with a “Celebration of Life” in the spring and will advise when and where.
Enjoy your well deserved rest, mom, we miss you already.
