Good morning,
  My name is Darryl Harris and I had the pleasure to work with Bobby Sanderson at Mearls Machine for many years. 
  We at Mearls met Bob many years ago through a very good friend of his and ours, Rudy and Monika Otter. Rudy and Monika planned an extended trip to Australia and we knew that we would need somebody to help Jim out in the front end at the shop and Bobby's name came up. Rudy and Monika came back from their holiday and Bobby stayed with us. The only description that comes to mind is that he adopted us at Mearls. He tried valiantly to keep the place organized for us by generally figuring out what had to be done and when for us, and always brought some organization to what can only be described as pandemonium on most days. He became so popular with the customers that I am sure they would order stuff from us just so he would have to deliver it and come for a visit. We had a little corner in the front of the store for coffee and there were many an entertaining coffee break up there with Bobby telling us hilarious stories as to what was going wrong with the Canucks and Leafs as well as BC and Canadian politics. He generated many a "stop Bob my ribs are hurting" laughs in that little space.
  Bobby brought with him a cheer and smile whenever he walked through the door. He would walk in and say with a sparkle in his eye's "Hey guys, what's going on"? Throw in a joke and it didn't matter how your day was going, it just got better. 
  I don't remember Bob complaining about anything in his life. Even when he was so sick the only thing that I remember him talking about was to tease the doctors. "I don't think they went to school long enough because I am sure they are going to poison me with the stuff they are feeding me" he would say with a laugh. 
  We all feel bad about Bob's passing which I have no doubt he wouldn't put up with. I can hear him saying, "Hey smarten up, we won't be putting up with that kind of crap". For myself I can already see him up there opening that gate and walking in saying, Hey guy's, what's going on"? It's the start of a new day for Bob and no doubt he is bringing a smile to those around him because that is Bobby Sanderson.

Hello Todd and Alan 
     Once again guys I just wanted to let you know how sorry that I am for your loss and regrets that I cannot be there for the service. At times like these I never know what to say or how to say it but I want you to know that your dad really meant a lot to me, not just as a brother in law but also as a freind and also a mentor. When I was young and going to school, mom and dad spent a fair amount of time in Manitoba and Palm Desert leaving me at home where I spent a lot of quality time with your mom and dad. When I did get into trouble, which was more often than you guys likely know about, it was your dad that I often turned to to bail me out and he never let me down. I learned a lot from him. It was always a lot of fun going down to the Shell and having a few laughs when your dad was around. You never knew what was going to come out of those lips or what he might do next to get a laugh out of ya. He was always larger than life and made any event fun to attend. Again I am very sorry that I will not be able to make it back for tomorrow's services but you can rest assured that at 5 pm (CAPTAIN MORGAN TIME) I will raise my glass to toast and say farewell to a great guy. Take care and I will be in contact when I pass through around the 16th or 17th of Feb.
     Your dad was always very proud of you and your families and I know that he will be missed by all, may he rest in peace.

We were so sorry to hear of your Dad's (and Grandfather's) passing. We have been reminiscing about the good times we shared with Bob and you boys when you were younger. Now is the time to remember the good times and we trust that you Dad has found his Peace. We will remember Bob with a contribution as suggested.

Thanks for all the help in house projects  especially Cassidy's  play house. We had fun together doing that.
