Bruce Francis Charles Vogl

He lived his life with humility and generosity - he'd give the shirt off his back if he needed to.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers and one sister in law.

Bruce died peacefully at Central Okanagan Hospice House surrounded by: The love of his life, Betty Vogl to whom he was married 68 years; The pride of his life, his daughters: Cheryl Fralick, Laurie Bartley, and Heather Vogl.

He leaves a fine legacy - the joys of his life: Kurt Fralick, Brandt Fralick, Derek Bartley (Enci), Connor Bartley, and Anisha McColl, plus his precious great-grandchildren.

Bruce and his family deeply appreciated the care and candor of the medical professionals who assisted him in his last months.

We are regularly told that Bruce was the glue that held relatives so close. Sunday drives to Armstrong, phone calls, visits, camping trips, gatherings, and one-to-one's were highlights for him. He called everyone on each birthday and anniversary.

His other love was hockey - he was a terrific armchair ref. He gave Don Cherry a run for his money... ;)

Bruce loved many sports including curling, fishing, hunting and playing pool. Being outdoors in his vegetable garden that he shared with the neighbourhood gave him much joy.

He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force right out of high school. He was stationed in Penhold, France, Ottawa, and Germany. After 20 years of service Bruce moved to Kelowna. He then worked for the BC Liquor Board for 22 years before retiring.

Bruce loved to host people: neighbours became true and longtime friends and he always had room in his home for one extra guest.

He was famous for his 3:00 'happy hour' because "it was always 5:00 somewhere"...

Bruce truly lived by the golden rule - treat others as you'd like to be treated.

His generosity, strong family values, humor, and love live on through us and through the lives he's touched throughout the years.

We continue to hold you in our stories, in our traditions and in our hearts.

It is not goodbye - it's TTFN :)
