She is survived by her children: Loretta McFarlane of Lake Country and Elaine Cunningham of Kitimat; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Elva was predeceased by her ex-husband, Melvin Garfield Young, and her second husband, Douglas Henry Burns, as well as her son Melvin Wayne Young.
Born in Mortlach, Saskatchewan in 1924, Elva moved to Kelowna in 1959 with her husband Melvin and three children. She married her second husband, Doug in 1984, and truly enjoyed life in the Okanagan.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, 1991 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC.
