

Pawlikowski: Shirley passed away quietly, surrounded by family members, at her Kelowna home on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the age of 83 after a lengthy battle with post-polio syndrome. A resident of Kelowna for 30+ years, she was born in Lintlaw, Saskatchewan. Shirley is survived by her Best siblings Doug (June), Muriel and Lyle, her daughters Gwen (Harry) Pawlikowski and Heather (John) Rowe, and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by four siblings and her husband, Chester. Shirley was a vibrant, engaged parent, member of the post-polio community, Ridgeview Missionary Church and council contributor at the Bench. She is deeply missed by family and friends whose lives have been enriched by her kindness, attentiveness and drive to contribute to her community. Special thanks to her independent caregivers and the staff of Interior Health who supported Shirley to overcome respiratory and mobility challenges and to achieve so much independence.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 250 Dougall Road North at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 14.
