Claude Elwood Aykroyd, born June 6, 1932 in Wainwright, Alberta to Samuel & Louise Aykroyd. Claude grew up on the family farm with 2 older brothers, Jim and Richard and 2 younger sisters, Norma and Melba.
Claude was a hard worker, spending his early life with his brothers working the farm, stooking grain, milking cows and riding his horse Babe to the country school.
After moving from Wainwright he took many jobs including driving truck, working on the railroad, transporting cars from Calgary to Windsor and finally working for the City of Kelowna where he enjoyed the weather and eventually spent the majority of his life. He worked for the City of Kelowna until his retirement in 1993.
Claude was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Helen, his parents, and siblings Jim, Richard and Norma.
He leaves behind his sister Melba and many nephews and nieces.
As per his wishes, Claude laid to rest at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Kelowna.
