It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Anna Alice Majewski on May 3d, 2026. She was born on October 21, 1940, to Harry and Juanita Lindberg in Port Moody, B.C. She spent her early childhood there alongside her older brother, Ron, before the family moved to Penticton, where she was raised and completed her schooling.
In her teenage years, Donna met the love of her life, Frank, during a Sunday evening public skate. What started as playful laps around the ice quickly became a lifelong love story. After graduation, the two were married and soon began building a beautiful life together. Their journey eventually led them to Kelowna, where they made their home and started a family. Donna was a devoted wife and proud mother to four children: three sons and a daughter. Donna lived her life on her own terms , with strength, humour, and a deep love for those around her.
Once her children were older, Donna began a long and meaningful career at Kelowna General Hospital, where she worked for 30 years before retiring in 2004. She was also deeply committed to her community and volunteered with many organizations over the years, especially the TELUS Ambassadors and the Kelowna Hostesses. In 1999, Donna proudly became the first woman to join the Central Okanagan Lions Club. She later transferred to Frank’s Okanagan Mission Lions Club, much to his disagreement and her amusement. Donna continued to form lasting friendships and give back to the community she loved through her many volunteer efforts.
Donna had many hobbies and talents and especially loved knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She was happiest when creating something for someone she loved. Many family members and friends will treasure the handmade gifts and memories she created.
Donna leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, laughter, and fierce devotion to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her sons, Dean (Bev), Brian (Diane), and Craig, and her daughter, Jodi (Bruce), as well as her seven grandchildren: Nicole, Samantha (Matt), Shane, Kyla (Dallas), Jillian, AJ, and Chris; and her three great-grandchildren: Amber, Hayden, and Beckett.
Donna goes on to join her husband of 59 years, Frank, whom she has missed dearly since his passing in 2017.
A Celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Friday, June 12th at 11:00 a.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services located at 1211 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna.
In keeping with Donna’s wishes, no flowers are requested. Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice. She also hoped that everyone attending her Celebration of Life be happy, sing loudly, and wear bright colours - no black, please.
She wanted her life celebrated with joy, laughter, and love.
