Dear Bob, Don, Sue and your families.  I wanted to let you know how I am thinking of all of you at this difficult time.   Your mom was a special lady and I have many, many memories of her but I will share just a few.  From childhood, I remember her cutting my hair (very short by the way and I had no say in the matter) and her toast was always way more tasty than we had at home.  I would complain to my mom that I wanted toast like Auntie Dorothy made and my mom could not do it.  They both bought bread at Betty's Bakery.  It turned out your mom used butter and mine used yucky margarine.  Your mom forced me over my dislike of potatoes.  When I was staying over (my folks were on vacation) Aunt Dorothy would fill my plate and I had no choice on what or how much went on the plate.  To my horror, she piled on the mashed potatoes!  My parents gave up on forcing me to eat mashed potatoes after I once threw up all over the table.  I said to your mom, "I can't eat potatoes as they will make me sick".  She told me to "eat up" and that was all that was to it.  I knew not to cross Auntie Dorothy as she was good at discipline and one did not want to be on the wrong side of her.  Her mashed potatoes were splendid!  She had them so smooth and silky with no lumps (like I had at home) and from that day forward I lost my fear of mashed potatoes.  Later in my teens, I was in the bowling league at Valley Lanes with Aunt Dorothy (when I hear Tom Jones sing, I think of your Mom).  Later still, I assisted her with selling her condo.  She was so good to work, she put her complete trust in me and I enjoyed every minute of time I spent with her.  I know how much you loved your mom and cherished her!  We are sorry we will not be able to attend the service as we are out of town.  Love you all!  Gord and Cindy
