

Edith Emily Thompson (Rennie), (nee Banbury) age 94, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2014, in Kelowna, B.C., with her three daughters by her side. She was born in Wolseley, Sask., to Roy and Nellie Banbury. As a registered nurse, she practiced for years in Canada and the USA, retiring as a Director of Nursing in Regina, Sask. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jean Squires, her brother Ashton Banbury, her grandson Todd Hunt, and her first husband, Timothy Thompson. She is survived by her daughters Eleanor Hunt of Bryan, Texas; Frances Thompson of Kelowna, BC and Lynda (Eric) Stansfield of Kelowna, BC. Also surviving are her grandsons, Brent Knapp of Fort Worth Texas, Carter Hunt of State College, Pennsylvania, Gary Pope (Nicole) and children Elizabeth and Lincoln of Regina, Sask., Mitch Pope (Jen) and daughter Brynn of Regina, Sask., two granddaughters Carman Wozniak (Drew) of Chesterfield, Michigan, Brittany Pope of Kelowna, BC, her sisters Phoebe Banbury of Regina, Sask., Ida Kenny of Medicine Hat, AB., sister-in-law Elaine Banbury of Wolseley, Sask., and Jack Rennie of Regina, Sask., a very special man in her life. A Memorial Service is planned for a later date with burial to take place in Wolseley, Saskatchewan..
