

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Eleonora Staniszewski announces her passing on May 7, 2026, at the age of 94. Eleonora (nee Kurek) was born on Jan.5, 1932 in Gorzejowa, Poland, the youngest of seven. In 1951, she married Edward Staniszewski and together they worked a small farm and had two sons and a daughter. Looking for a better future for their family they emigrated to Canada in December 1961, where they built a good, full life living in Edmonton and Kelowna.
She leaves behind a legacy of family that loved her immensely - her sons Stanley (Christine), Joseph (Bozena), and daughter Mary (Terry), her grandchildren Natasha, Jessica (Brian), Greg, Rozalia (Andrew), Joanna (Julian), Julia (Ian), John (Jill), Stefanie (Cavan), Dorothy. Her beloved great grandchildren Tian, Cohen, Neve, Nixon, Nathan, Jacob, Charlie, Emily, Owen. Her greatest pleasure was to feed them all. She was predeceased by her husband Edward (2009) and son-in-law, Wieslaw Bielecki (2010).
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, friends, and faith.

A Prayer Service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna, BC on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 22 at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Edmonton with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Edmonton
