Esther Joyce Quakenbush

After a long life celebrated by fun, hard work, and devotion to family, Joyce passed away peacefully on the evening of July 22, 2024.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years William Quakenbush; children Blair, Stacey (Rod), and Drew, grand children Kirstie (Wes), Kelsa, Dylan, Spencer (Veronica), Kade, Scarlett, and Remington, and great-grandson Freddy.

Joyce will be missed by all including Jim and Earla Quakenbush (and family), Valerie Jackson (and family), her beloved sorority sisters from Beta Sigma Phi, and all others she touched throughout her long, rich life.

Born in Edmonton and raised in Vancouver, Joyce attended Kitsilano High School before training as a nurse at St Paul's Hospital. Upon graduating from nursing school Joyce worked for a year in Bermuda before returning to Vancouver to marry her high school sweetheart Bill.

Bill and Joyce settled in Surrey to raise their family and a menagerie of pets of all possible description.

Joyce was a joyous and loving presence in the lives and hearts of all who met her. She will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fort Langley Golf Course, Monday August 19th, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM , Please join us.
