1926 ~ 2013
With sadness, we announce the passing of Fred Wainwright on April 11, 2013 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 86 years.
Fred will be lovingly remembered by: his wife Grace of over 65 years, nephews Ken, Jim, Bill and Brian Wainwright, niece Sandy Jordan, Sean and Ervin Allen, nieces Heather Allen, Bev Matheson and Bonnie Constant, all their families, and many good friends.
He was predeceased by brothers Victor and Leslie Wainwright, and brother-in-law Edward Allen.
Fred was a proud Navy Veteran, having served in WWII. After the war, he worked for 43 years with the CPR, retiring to Kelowna. He loved golfing and gardening, and over his lifetime was an avid fan of all sports – particularly hockey, football and rugby. He also enjoyed playing bridge.
A very special ‘Thank-you’ to Drs. Wickstrom and Swart, and to the nurses and staff of Kelowna Hospice House for their care and compassion.
