Much loved husband, dad, grampa, great-grampa, minister, friend and colleague passed away in the Central Okanagan (Kelowna) Hospice House on March 5, 2011 at the age of 92.
Born in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) Ontario on January 6, 1919, he was educated at Queens, Princeton (MTh) and received an Honourary Doctorate of Divinity from Presbyterian College, McGill.
He had many ministries in several parts of Canada over his career.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Marie (Petersen), and six children and their families: Judith Gunderson, Allan Dobie, David Dobie, Sheila Dobie, Elizabeth Dobie Sarsam, ans Gwenyth Dobie.
To Dr. Crittenden, the Hospitalists, Nurses, and other staff of Kelowna General Hospital, ER, 4E, 3S, and 4A for their care and kindness and the exceptional, loving care surrounding Dad and our family at Hospice House in his final days, we are very grateful. Dad had a Gratitude Attitude and felt richly blessed. He love his Church, his beautiful wife and family and a wee dram of good scotch, not necessarily in that order. Blessings and gazzillions of love, Dad, and extra hugs.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday March 12, 2011 at St. David's Presbyterian Church, 271 Glenmore Road, Kelowna, BC.
