Hank and his twin brother George were born on August 13th, 1939, to Hermann and Susanna Redlich in Kelowna, BC. He grew up in Kelowna, attended Kelowna Secondary School and worked at S.M. Simpson Sawmill in various jobs until he retired in 2000. In his younger years, he took great pride in his Olds 98.
Hank married Linda whom he met in Kelowna and where they made their home. They were married for 54 years.
Hank is survived by his loving wife Linda, 2 brothers Albert and Bill (Jan), and 2 sisters Agnes (Hugo) and Edie (Glenn) and sister-in-law Lillian Redlich plus brother-in-law Francis Blackman and brother-in-law Howard Gray (Barb). He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Jerry, George (Glenna), sisters Elli Giesbrecht (Abe) (Fred Heffke), Ruth Welder (Vic) and Lilly Blackman; plus his sister-in-law Tina Redlich. He leaves behind a large family of nephews and nieces.
Hank fought a courageous battle with cancer for many years but finally it took his life.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and cancer clinic for the care he received. Also thanks to the Hospice House for affording him comfortable surroundings during his last days.
There will be no service at his request.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society in memory of Hank would be greatly appreciated.
